I recently saw the film ‘Ted’ and wanted to write a little something on my own love for teddy bears.

On the day I was born my Nanny gave me a Steiff teddy bear. I don’t remember this of course, it’s something I was told as I got older and just haven’t forgotten. I still have that same teddy bear now. ‘Jessie’ has been through and seen it all with me. Quite possibly the worst moment of Jessie’s existence would be the back-to-back emergency visits to the washing machine after I’d pooed on...

I’m no connoisseur when it comes to wine but I do like a glass or two of the red stuff. I’m not necessarily a big drinker per say; I’ve just gone right off that whole ‘spirits’ scene. In my opinion, if it smells like nail varnish remover then I’m not going to want to ingest it. Still, I most likely make up for these missed units with my red wine consumption.

My own logic (not necessarily the same as your logic or anyone else’s for that matter) tells me that surely you must be devoid of all human emotion – a robot if you will – if you’ve never had the feeling of needing to explode with rage. You MUST have been there at least once in your life. Someone getting on your nerves and you’ve had to ball up a fist, just to stop yourself from clawing their face to pieces?

Even Kryton (of Red Dwarf fame) lost it every now and then. I won’t believe...

As the eldest child in my family, I’ve been watching my younger sisters grow and noticing how their opinions and attitudes change with time and age. Not watching in a creepy way of course; more of a loving, mother hen way. My two younger sisters are currently aged 12 and 7 and I can wholeheartedly say that all 3 of us share a pretty similar wavelength.

Now don’t get me wrong – there’s a big difference between immaturity and being child-like. I like to think that I have an adorable mix of...

Frankly my dears, if you can’t relax your inhibitions and randomly burst into dance while walking down a corridor, then you’re just not worth knowing in my opinion. I will never be able to get close to you emotionally. Additionally, if you aren’t able to accept that this is something I do myself, you may not enjoy getting to know me either.

Call me cynical, but whenever I’ve seen anything labelled as ‘Modern Art’ I am always left with that mildly embarrassing inner question – am I just too thick to get it?

Last summer I visited the Tate Modern gallery with my husband and we both left with a bit of an empty feeling in our souls. The building is a pretty colossal one with more than enough space/rooms inside to accommodate some pretty spectacular pieces of art. Ok so it was nice to not have to pay an admissions fee to get in to...

Photographs taken by Ashley Ward Photography

In the run-up to my wedding last year, I naturally spent some time thinking about the photography for the day. There is a daunting black hole out there of photographers and it can be so overwhelming to make the final decision on who you will book to do the job. Luckily for my husband and I, one of my closest friends and her husband are wedding photographers and kindly offered to take on the task themselves. As you can imagine, this lifted a...

Nothing makes my heart sing quite like discovering something tasty up for grabs in the reduced section of a supermarket. You might think I’m sad – it’s quite likely you did even before reading this – but it’s just how I feel. Imagine the small joy I feel upon seeing a pasta pot with 72p off. Hello successful lunchtime!

Sometimes you just have to give in and let it happen. It’s part of life now; part of being a woman. You can avoid it all you like but try as you may, you must face it some time. Ladies, it’s time to go to the hairdressers.

	DUN DUN DUN!

“So what’s the deal?” I hear you ask. BIG DEAL INDEED! Just a little trim? Throw in a few highlights? Might even get that fringe you’ve been flirting around recently? What could go wrong?

Admit it. Go on. I know you’ve done it. We’ve all done it. Don’t be embarrassed. These things happen.

As long as there has been alcohol, there has been some twat dragging home a ‘Speed Limit 25’ sign with all the possessiveness and passion Gollum displayed whenever he saw The Ring. Such a foolish act of humanity and yet such a frequent occurrence. Is it a genetic compulsion? Is it a (God forbid) sexual attraction? Why oh why must we always do it? This unleashed form of kleptomania can only...
